OverviewSEC. 01

Commercial glazing packages for new-build and refurbishment, from survey and design through to fabrication, installation and close-out.

Glazing is the least forgiving package on a building. Tolerances are measured in millimetres, lead times are long, and a survey error is discovered only when the unit arrives on site. The discipline sits in the preparation.

Stanmore delivers commercial glazing for offices, retail, residential and public buildings: curtain walling, shopfronts and entrance screens, internal glazed partitions and doorsets, balustrades and structural glass assemblies.

We survey the as-built opening rather than the drawing, order against verified dimensions, and sequence installation around the weather line and the follow-on trades that depend on it.

CapabilitiesSEC. 02

Systems and capabilities

01

Curtain walling

Stick and unitised aluminium systems with capped, structurally glazed and feature-fin configurations.

02

Shopfronts and entrance screens

Commercial shopfronts, automatic and manual entrance doorsets, and framed screens to retail and reception thresholds.

03

Internal glazed systems

Single and double-glazed partitions, acoustic screens and fire-rated glazed assemblies with matching doorsets.

04

Structural and frameless glass

Frameless assemblies, glass fins, balustrades and juliet balconies with concealed fixings.

05

Window replacement

Aluminium and composite window replacement on occupied and refurbishment schemes, planned around building use.

06

Fire-rated glazing

Integrity and insulation-rated glazed screens and doorsets installed to the tested system, including perimeter sealing.

DesignSEC. 03

Design and pre-construction

Every package begins with a dimensional survey of the as-built condition and a tolerance study against the frame or structure. Ordering glass against a drawing rather than a survey is the single most expensive mistake in this discipline.

We produce fabrication and setting-out drawings, thermal and structural calculations where the system requires them, and a delivery schedule that reflects genuine glass lead times rather than optimistic ones.

Where the specification is broad, we tighten it — system, finish, glass make-up, acoustic and thermal performance — so the item ordered is the item specified.

MethodSEC. 04

How the package is delivered

  1. 01

    Dimensional survey

As-built openings surveyed and recorded; deviations agreed before fabrication release.

  2. 02

    Fabrication release

Frames and glass ordered against verified dimensions to an agreed delivery sequence.

  3. 03

    Frame installation

Framing installed level, plumb and square, with movement and packing to the system detail.

  4. 04

    Glazing

Units installed with planned lifting and access, correct setting blocks, drainage and ventilation paths.

  5. 05

    Sealing and handover

Perimeter sealing, weather testing where specified, protection and a documented handover.

AssuranceSEC. 05

Quality and evidence

  • Site-verified survey dimensions signed off before any fabrication order is released.
  • Lifting and access plans specific to unit weight and elevation, prepared before delivery.
  • Weather-tightness testing where the specification requires it, with results issued in the close-out pack.
  • Protection regime agreed with the main contractor so completed glazing survives the rest of the programme.

Applications

  • Commercial office entrances and curtain walling
  • Retail shopfronts
  • Internal office glazing and partitions
  • Residential window replacement
  • Public and civic buildings

Coverage

Delivered from four UK operational locations — London, West, North and Midlands — with a single point of commercial accountability wherever the project sits.

QuestionsSEC. 07

Frequently asked

Do you deliver both external and internal glazing?
Yes. Curtain walling, shopfronts and window replacement externally; glazed partitions, screens and fire-rated assemblies internally. Delivering both from one contractor removes the interface at the reveal.
How are long glass lead times managed?
By surveying and releasing fabrication early against verified dimensions, and by fixing delivery dates into the construction programme at pre-construction rather than negotiating them later.
Can you work on occupied buildings?
Yes. Refurbishment and replacement programmes on occupied buildings are planned around access, weather protection, security and hours of working agreed with the building manager.
